Homemade Sugar Cookie + Frosting Recipe (TODDLER FRIENDLY)

I know Christmas is over but you can decorate sugar cookies for pretty much any occasion. I know my daughter and I will decorate them for New Years, Valentine's Day, Easter, Saint Patrick's Day, 4th of July, etc etc so you catch my drift? Don't you think that these are some adorable sugar cookies?
Would you believe me that these are 100% homemade, including the frosting? & would you believe me when I said that I decorated these and I can't even draw a stick figure? Yep, I really did. & guess what, my daughter and her best friend (my daughter is 3, and her best friend is 2 but only 6 months younger) decorated the same type of sugar cookies and the mess was not nearly as bad as when we decorated cookies in the past, look at how much fun they had:
I finally came up with the best frosting recipe that is toddler friendly. I made the frosting, and then I split it up into 4 bowls and made each bowl a different color (I put about 3 drops of food coloring in each bowl) and then gave them each a plate and gave them a spoonful of each color, their cookies, a paint brush, a bowl full of sprinkles, and let them go to town. & in the mean time I decorated a few cookies. What a cool idea, to paint cookies. Well here is my recipe for both. Let me know your thoughts.

Sugar Cookie Recipe
Ingredients Needed:

  • One Stick of Butter
  • 3/4 Cup of Sugar
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 2 1/2 Cups of Flour
  • 2 Teaspoons of Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 Teaspoons of Baking Powder
Steps:
  1. Beat the Butter on Low until light and fluffy
  2. Add the sugar to your butter and beat on medium for 3 minutes
  3. Beat in your egg and vanilla
  4. In a separate bowl mix flour and baking powder
  5. Whisk your flour mixture into your mixture slowly.
  6. Chill in the fridge for an hour
  7. After you've let it chill it's ready to be rolled out and cut into shapes
This is honestly the ONLY sugar cookie recipe I've ever made where I literally only lightly floured my hands and the counter and didn't get dough stuck to everything :)

Sugar Cookie Icing Recipe
Ingredients Needed:
  • 2 Cups of Powdered Sugar
  • 4 Teaspoons of Milk
  • 4 Teaspoons of Karo Syrup
  • 1/2 Teaspoons of Vanilla Extract
Steps
  1. Mix Sugar and Milk together until completely combined
  2. Turn on the mixer and beat in the Karo Syrup
  3. Mix in the Vanilla
  4. Mix for 5-10 minutes
  5. Separate into bowls
  6. Put about 3 drops of your desired food coloring
  7. Paint on with a paint brush
Submit your pictures so I can post them :)

Natural Dandruff Remedy

I swear I have the weirdest hair and skin! I have eczema and but have always had acne problems so my skin is naturally greasy, and my hair is naturally oily but I have dandruff. It is not cool at all.

So not long ago when I was Christmas shopping I spent $10.99 on a big bottle of Head and Shoulders Shampoo and Conditioner combo. It has always worked for me and my dandruff problem definitely improved but it didn't get rid of it totally. WTF.

Well I'm no longer wearing my hair like in the picture above all the time because I finally found my cure! It's almost too hard for me to believe because um, I've been suffering from dandruff problems my whole entire life but indeed I did.

The Natural Dandruff Cure

What you will Need:

  • 2 Egg Yolks
  • 2 Tablespoons of Olive Oil
  • 2 Tablespoons of Sugar
**NOTE: That is what I used for my hair because I have very LONG and THICK hair, if you could try doing half of this if your hair is short and thin.

Now I put all the ingredients in a little bowl and mixed them all together and it created a conditioner type thing.

Looks weird huh? Well then I put the whole mixture on my hair and was sure to scrub my scalp and get it all in there. There was some spots of my hair that it wasnt globbed on, but that was mostly the bottom of my hair. Then I put my hair up, this is what I looked like:

**NOTE: I had a homemade facial mask on at the same time. lol.

Then I left it on for about an hour.

Everything I read online said to wait and wasn't clear about what to do after rinsing it out so I'm writing my own section about this.

How to Rinse It Out
  1. Take out your ponytail/bun and rinse it out just like you'd rinse anything else out
  2. Use a mild shampoo and conditioner on your hair (I personally used Kids Shampoo and Conditioner Combo)
  3. Dry your hair like normal
  4. Use your normal leave in conditioner (If applicable)
I Swear By This
When I say such a thing trust me, I mean it. It's taken me a long time to actually love my hair and I wouldn't do anything to mess it up. Here is some proof. I took this picture before I put my normal leave in conditioner (Garnier: Sleek and Shine)
For the first time in years I actually debated on putting my leave in conditioner in. I did add my usual leave in conditioner tho and check out how amazing my hair looked
& Besides my hair looking amazing IT FEELS AMAZING TOO. I am not seeing any dandruff and it's not itching at all. Just amazing. Try this and let me know what your thoughts are. xoxo

Easy Christmas 2014 Nail Tutorial

Second time painting my nails for the Holidays season and here is what they look like:
I actually really like these ones (sorry about me being a messy painter). Now please take note of the following things:

  • I use a base coat and a top coat. It's called 3 minute miracle gel manicure. I highly recommend it :)
  • I use white nail polish first because some of my nail polishes wouldn't come out NEAR AS BRIGHT without it.
So here is your tutorial, follow the instructions from left to right, please also take note that the line says gradient steps, I did a gradient. Feel free to pick a different color tho.

FREE Funeral Brochure Template & Tutorial

Not Too Long ago, my best friends dad passed away and i told him I would help him out by creating the brochures for his funeral. I was researching templates to try to make this task as easy and possible for myself and to my surprise there was NO plain, good, nice looking free templates. Really made me sick to my stomach honestly because why take advantage of people who are grieving? Aren't the funeral expenses enough!? I mean, if we would have copied these brochures at kinko's isntead of using my printer; it would have been a lot more money than it was. So I created this funeral brochure template and I hope it helps someone out there out a little bit. If you absolutely can't create your own funeral brochure with this template, please use the form at the bottom and I will assist you and make one for you
