Easy Polka Dot Tutorial

So I just finally got nail polish brushes not long ago, and I plan on writing a tutorial about every brush to give examples and help to people who may have just gotten the brushes as well. So let's get to know your dotting tool! & I even did two different varietions for you! Well I couldn't decide which would look better so I did both.

Variation #1

This is what the first one looks like obviously lol. I lve it.

Variation #2

This is the second one, and I love this one aqs well. I'm glad I did both..

Step 1: Base coat

This is pretty self-explanatory lol

step 2: Color Base

I did purple on every other finger & brown on the other fingers

I did brown on every other finger & pink on the remaining fingers.

Step 3: Glitter coat

I used gold glitter with the brown nail polish & glitter matching the other colors. This is optional I just like like glitter

Step 4: Tip on the brown nails

This is the brush I personally used to do my tips

Step 5: First Set Of Dots

Pink Polka Dots On Purple

Purple Polka Dots on Purple

Step 6: Dots & Glitter

I added a few white dots on each nail and outlined my tips with glittery silver.

Finish Off With A Top Coat!

Free MP3 Downloads

I know, you're probably going to just accuse me of not being serious, but I am actually being dead serious. Free MP3 downloads with NO viruses. & believe me I know all about the viruses a lot of software has given my computer in the past. We started off having Kazaa in 2004, Frostwire, Limewire etc. But Trust Me, This is way different.

I'm pretty sure that most of you who will read this article are familiar with YouTube. How many of us have gone on YouTube to hear a song that we enjoy? I know I have more than once. ;) But isn't it annoying if you're listening on your phone, that when you accidently lock you screen it shuts off the song also. Now if there was only a way that we could just take the music part of those songs to be able to put them on our mp4 players, ipods, phones, whatever.

This is why i recommend flvto.com

It is so easy to use, and doesn't downlaod a bunch of viruses on your computer! I mean look at how nice the website looks.

easiest downloader ever

Literally, these are the steps (For Dummies)
  1. Go On YouTube.com
  2. Find a video with a song you like
  3. Copy the link in the URL box when you are viewing the video
  4. Go to the FLVTO homepage (screenshot above) and paste the link in the box
  5. 'Press Convert To
  6. Press download
See, what did i tell you....super easy!? You're not even required to download a program to download any music, talk about awesome!

There's more? no way!

Hard to believe but yes there is more! They also offer programs through their website and yes, I did download them because I am constantly downloading music! They are also extremely helpful!
Desktop Converter

The FLVTO Desktop Converter

For those of you like me who download music constantly, why not get the program for your computer? I got it after using the program for awhile and I find it so useful! I think it's awesome they offer a desktop converter on top of already having their awesome converter through your web browser.

This one is also pretty neat and I literally just downloaded it. You watch videos like you usually do and a download button comes up and then you get the opportunity to download it. Very helpful for me because I forget what songs I want constantly.

So what are you waiting for!?

Valentine's Day Card & Envelope Tutorial (For Kids)

Well Valentine's Day is coming up so it was time to pull out the Valentine's Day crafts. Was scrolling thru pinterest and got a little inspiration but basically came up with this myself....just had Kaycee make personal, cute valentines with things we already had at home. & We had to mail her grandpa one but I didn't want to bend the card, so we MADE an envelope. Yep. Keep reading!!

Making The Card

What You Will Need:

  • Watercolors
  • Construction Paper (2 Colors Per Card)
  • 1 Sheet Regular Printer Paper
  • Coffee Filter
  • Crayons
  • Markers
  • Glue

Steps:

  1. First thing is first - Take your coffee filter and fold it in half. Now you can either draw a half a heart or cut it free hand (I cut mine freehand) & after you cut it you will see that you have a heart. Let dry.
  2. Let your child draw all over it. I saw tutorials that were SO EXACT which is not always super fun to kiids. Let them go crazy (make sure theya re careful to not tear the paper) until it is done. Let Dry.
**Note: If they dont' fill in the whole thing, you can do what I did which was take a watercolor and fill in the white parts.
  3. Take a piece of construction paper and fold it in half - & then fold it in half again. I personally like to glue the inside parts that won't be seen by the person recieving the card so if you're the same way - do so now.
  4. When you coffee filter heart is done trace it around your second piece of construction paper and cut out a boder for your heart.
  5. Glue the border on the front of the card, and then glue the coffee filter heart on the border after
  6. Cut a small piece of printer paper and glue it on the inside and you can write wahtever note you want.
Sorry that it is so difficult to explain! If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask.

DIY Glue

As my daughter and I were making Valentine's Day cards - I realized we were out of glue! Bummer! But, that doesn't mean I did not solve this problem. I did lots and lots of research and I found some recipes with Flour and Vinegar - I don't currently have any vinegar so that was a no go. I did find one recipe on Wikianswers I think and I made it....a little differently than what it said but it only takes 2 ingredients that you probably already have and it works great and it is non toxic so it is kid friendly!

Ingredients Required:

1 CupRice (I used White Rice)
4 CupsWater

Step One:

Mix your rice and water in a pot and bring it to a rapid boil. Once it is to a rapid boil cover and simmer for an hour.

Step Two:

When your rice is ready to be glue - it should look like oatmeal (see picture below). Remove from heat and let it cool off for 25 minutes.

Step Three:

Place in either a blender or magic bullet with some water **** and blend it until it's smooth for the most part (see picture below) Then place in storage jar! Easy process to make glue huh?

** I used a magic bullet, I did about 4 tablespoons of water for the whole batch.
This is what the glue looks like when in use!

Be sure to Store in the Refridgerator

Bubble Bath

DIY Bubble bath?  Yep. Easy as 1 - 2 -3 and totally kid friendly and cost efficient!

What You Need:

·         1/4 Cup of Kid Shampoo (conditioner combo okay)
·         1/4 Cup of Water
·         3 tablespoons of salt

Very Easy Directions

Mix all of the ingredients in a cup, that's what I did, in the spongebob cup (picture above) and put it in like normal store bought bubble bath. It's awesome and wayy cheaper than mr. bubbles. I'm never wasting my money again, that's for damn sure!

Detoxing Bath

Who knew that tea not only can make you feel better if you drink it, but if you bathe with it too? YEP, this is just a general tutorial of one I made for my daughter. Try any kind of tea that you want, I use chamomille for my daughter and green for me. We call them tea bags and she thinks they're absolutely amazing!

Notes & Tips

  • I use powdered oatmeal but you can use whole oatmeal too
  • You can mix the oatmeal and tea together before placing in coffee filter
  • If you don't have any coffee filters you can use a sock
  • I usually make myself 2 to make sure I actually get the effect I'm looking for

Simple Acne Scrub

I came up with this one in the spur of the moment; literally going to take a shower and realizing that we were out of any facial scrub which I cannot go without! NOPE! So I came up with this and I loveee it. It makes my face feel absolutely amazing and it takes two of the most common ingredients. The great news? Both of these ingredients fight against and help prevent acne which is something that I have literally struggled with for the last decade. I thought as as adult I wouldn't have to worry about acne anymore but I still do....it's a bummer but this is definitely gentle and effective!

What You Will Need:

2 Tablespoons of

Powdered Oatmeal

1 (or more) Tablespoons of

Lemon Juice

Some Simple Directions

**Note: You can use a food processor or a Magic Bullet to turn your oatmeal into powder

Step 1

Place your powdered oatmeal into your mixing bowl.
(Make sure you are using a spoon to mix it)

Step 2

Mix in your lemon juice, I mixed about 1/4 teaspoon at time until it's your desired constistensy.

Wow, that was easy! Easy, Cheap, & Effective!

Not Just For Eczema

Need a moisturizer to follow up with? This is what I use and it is easy and amazing. Definitely always making a lot of this stuff.

Baby Safe Eczema Lotion

I have always had eczema pretty bad, and it has always sucked. My daughter also unfortuantely has eczema pretty bad as well and let me tell you, there isn't a lot of things that actually help. I've bought everything form Burt's Bee's, to Aveeno, to Johnson & Johnson and I have not been very pleased with any of the results so once again, I went on a mission to create something pretty awesome that will help my daughter's eczema and I finally found a GREAT solution that is cost effective and stuff I have in my kitchen.

What You Will Need:

About 1/2 Cup

Coconut Oil

1 Tablespoon

Olive Oil

About 1/4 Cup

Oatmeal

What To Do (Very Easy):

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Place your coconut oil in a very small pot on low heat to melt the coconut oil. Coconut oil melts at a very low heat.

Mix in your oatmeal until it is well blended, and then mix in the olive oil until well blended. It should look something like this
Don't be discouraged, it is supposed to look like this
You have two options & here they are:

For immediate use:
Put in a container (like in the picture above, i stored the rest in a sealed container) and put in the freezer. I put my daugher in the bathtub and whens he was done we took it out of the freezer and it was ready for us to use. Might be a little hard but just rub it in your hands first.

If you have a little time:
Pour it in desired container and place ina  place that isn't too hot for a few hours, and when you check back in a few hours it will be the texture of a lotion.

This is what mine looks like:

My daughter loves this stuff, I hope you love it as much as she does.

Magic Bullet Beauty

I originally got my magic bullet to make my own baby food for my daughter when she was an infant BUT I STILL USE IT. and what for? um pretty much everything. I use it as a food processor and as a blender. But now I am using it for beauty masks for my face and hair.

No Way, really?

I'm being totally serious here! & My face and hair feels absolutely amazing! So today I have three DIY recipes. A Facial Mask, Hair Mask, & a Daily Face/Body Scrub; Allinclude ingredients you already have in your kitchen! I mean do I look like I'm lying in my picture? I never drink lol.
