DIY Glue

As my daughter and I were making Valentine's Day cards - I realized we were out of glue! Bummer! But, that doesn't mean I did not solve this problem. I did lots and lots of research and I found some recipes with Flour and Vinegar - I don't currently have any vinegar so that was a no go. I did find one recipe on Wikianswers I think and I made it....a little differently than what it said but it only takes 2 ingredients that you probably already have and it works great and it is non toxic so it is kid friendly!

Ingredients Required:

1 CupRice (I used White Rice)
4 CupsWater

Step One:

Mix your rice and water in a pot and bring it to a rapid boil. Once it is to a rapid boil cover and simmer for an hour.

Step Two:

When your rice is ready to be glue - it should look like oatmeal (see picture below). Remove from heat and let it cool off for 25 minutes.

Step Three:

Place in either a blender or magic bullet with some water **** and blend it until it's smooth for the most part (see picture below) Then place in storage jar! Easy process to make glue huh?

** I used a magic bullet, I did about 4 tablespoons of water for the whole batch.
This is what the glue looks like when in use!

Be sure to Store in the Refridgerator
